Portfolio Management
Synexus
The clinical trials services business floated on AiM in November 2005 at a price of 65p, which represented an initial market capitalisation of £12 million. Synexus operates through its own network of twelve investigator sites in the UK, sourcing patients, screening them for suitability, managing them through the trail and collecting data before reporting back to clients including AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis. The business was formed in 1998 and in February 2001 we led the management buy-out of the company with a £4 million investment.
Since its floatation the company has had a very good share price run at which point Aberdeen has realised significant profits on behalf of their clients.
