Aberdeen Asset Managers Growth Capital invests in Training for Travel Limited
Aberdeen Asset Managers Growth Capital ("Aberdeen") has led an investment in Training for Travel Limited ("TFT"), a leading provider of Government funded training services to travel companies and tour operators.
Based in Bury, Lancashire, TFT employs over 60 people providing training in areas such as customer service, team leadership, business administration as well as industry qualifications and employee assessments. TFT works for a number of household names including TUI, Co-operative Travel, Apollo Travel, Carlson Wagonlit, Cosmos and Virgin Holidays.
Aberdeen's investment will assist the Managing Director, Joanne Roche, and Operations Director, Beverley Platt, in the delivery of their expansion plans for the business which they founded over 10 years ago.
Aberdeen provided equity funding alongside management, with NatWest providing the debt and additional banking facilities. The transaction was led by Aberdeen's Northern based Growth Capital team of Ryan Bevington and Jonty Hall, with Ryan joining the board of TFT. HW Corporate Finance introduced the deal to Aberdeen and advised on the investment.
Joanne Roche, Managing Director of Training for Travel Limited, said:
"We are delighted to have Aberdeen on board, having recognised their strengths in helping businesses like ours achieve their potential, and equally importantly, we believe they are people we will enjoy working with. This is an exciting time for TFT and we are looking forward to continuing the growth and development of our business with the additional support from Aberdeen"
Ryan Bevington, Senior Investment Manager, Growth Capital, Aberdeen said:
"TFT is the leading provider of training services into the travel industry, as shown by the company's impressive client list. The Government funded vocational training market is growing in size having recently undergone some fundamental changes, and we look forward to working alongside Jo and Bev and their team as the business enters an exciting new stage in its development."
