Recapitalisation of Styles & Wood
Aberdeen Asset Managers Private Equity has successfully recapitalised Styles & Wood in a deal supported by Royal Bank of Scotland. This is following the strong growth in the business since Aberdeen led a £33 million capital release and secondary buy-out in May 2004. The deal has permitted a full return of Aberdeen's original investment together with an increased stake in the business going forward.
Styles & Wood is the UK's leading independent provider of retail fit-out and property services. Its customers consist of high street names such as Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Tesco and Barclays. The business has four core business divisions namely Storeplanning, Storefit, Storecare and Storedata. The business provides a full-range of property related services from planning and fit-out to ongoing property management services. For the year to December 2005 the business had a turnover of £170m. Further growth will come from development of the service side of the business together with the enhancement to the business's 'Customer for Life' philosophy.
Neil Davies, Chief Executive, Styles & Wood, commented:
"I am extremely pleased that Aberdeen have backed management again as we move the business forward into its next phase of growth".
