Institutional Investors & Advisers

Through multi-asset investment at Aberdeen,
we aim to solve problems of risk, or of target returns,
by tailoring the group's different investment
strategies to best effect.

Multi-asset investing

At Aberdeen, we believe we offer cost-effective answers to some of the most demanding investment problems facing pension funds, charities and foundations today.

Within the Aberdeen group, we have a broad palette of investment skills and asset competencies. Put simply, Aberdeen's multi-asset team blends and tailors these skills to meet desired client objectives. The team specifically aims to address or resolve the disparate risk appetites, reduced volatilty or the target returns that our institutional clients seek.

Multi-asset: because our clients have different needs

Multi-asset investing evolved within the pension fund industry and involves the use of a wider set of investment opportunities to diversify risk more efficiently than simply along the conventional bond or equity axis.

The multi-asset investment universe is therefore substantially wider than that followed by traditional “balanced” mandates, allowing investors to capture returns from a range of uncorrelated sources. Overall portfolio returns do not therefore rely on one particular asset category and no single decision is responsible for investment returns in isolation.
