Training
Objective
As an equal opportunities employer, Aberdeen Asset Management PLC (AAM PLC) recognises that their most important resource is their people. The Company therefore has a strong commitment to the training and development of all its employees.
This policy has been developed in order to endorse this commitment by Senior Management and to inform employees as to how training and development will be implemented within the organisation.
The objective of the training policy is to ensure the systematic training and development of all employees in order to:
- meet the business needs of the organisation.
- meet individual needs relevant to the business.
- provide an environment for employees to develop their careers within the company.
Approach
Our approach to training takes account of three distinct training areas:
- New staff joining the company require induction training and training in the skills required to do the job.
- Existing members of staff who require developmental training either to meet the needs of an expanding role in the company, to maintain competence in their role or to prepare them to cope with more responsibility in the future.
- A significant event which triggers training and development needs such as, changes in legislation, acquisition of new company, change in IT system.
