We’ve sponsored Paul since 1999 when he won the Open Championship at Carnoustie. It’s great to see him wearing Aberdeen-branded clothing worldwide and attending our functions and events during the year.

About Paul Lawrie

Paul joined the European Tour in 1992 and became a household name in 1999. He came from 10 strokes behind on the final day to defeat Jean Van de Veld and Justin Leonard in a four-hole play-off.

Paul was victorious again in 2011, winning the European Tour’s Open de Andalucía de Golf by Turkish Airlines in Spain. This was Paul’s first win since 1999 – a great achievement by Aberdeen’s first sponsored player.
