Born in Glasgow, Scottish golfer Simon Yates represented his country as a downhill skier in his youth. He turned pro in 1989 and now lives in Hua Hin, Thailand.

About Simon Yates

Simon joined the Asian Tour in 1995 and has amassed career earnings of over $1.24 million. He now plays regularly on the One Asia Tour.

Simon’s career highlights:

• Two victories on the Asian Tour – The 1998 Sabah Masters in Malaysia and the 2004 SK Telecom Open in Korea
• Challenged for the Asian Tour Order of Merit title in 2004 before fading towards the tail-end of the season. He ended the season ranked third on the Order of Merit after securing 7 top-10 finishes
