We’re showing our commitment to golf at all levels of the game with our sponsorship of The Scotland Amateur Golf Team. We’re also a partner of the Scottish Golf Union Academy (SGU) , an organisation dedicated to making golf available to everyone.

Aberdeen and The Scotland Amateur Golf Team

Aberdeen is the official sponsor of the Scotland Men’s Amateur Golf Team. We became the first brand to sponsor an amateur side when we began the relationship in 2007. Ever since, the Aberdeen logo can be seen on the clothing and bags of Scotland’s leading amateur golfers when they represent their country.

About The Scotland Amateur Golf Team

The team has had tremendous success in recent years.

• Winners of the Eisenhower Trophy in 2008
• Winners of the European Amateur Team Championships in 2009
• Fifth at the World Amateur Golf Championships in Argentina in 2010 and tenth overall at the European Amateur Championship the same year
• Michael Stewart, one of the SGU’s leading amateurs won the South African Amateur Matchplay Championship in March 2011.

The SGUencourages people to play golf, as well as developing and sustaining the game in Scotland. It represents more than 600 affiliated member clubs with over 250,000 golfers across Scotland.
